Kalamazoo, MI – TEDxKalamazoo is pleased to announce this year’s lineup of events! We will hold 2 salon events, January and February, with a main event in June.
On January 22, TEDxKalamazoo is hosting their first event at Starting Gate. Starting Gate is Western Michigan University’s Startup accelerator, which was developed to help students accelerate entrepreneurial ventures into businesses. Attending this event are several local entrepreneurs who want to share their journey and experiences. We are excited to host Daniel Jefferies (Happy Graph), Joe Armstrong (Sportech Labs), and Kori Jock (La Vie en Orange) who want to share their stories and lessons learned.
TEDxKalamazoo is reaching its 4th year of spreading powerful ideas locally. Due to such powerful growth we have decided to step up our game this season and offer 4 events, rather than just 1. With our local speakers reaching tens of thousands of watchers online we are very excited to continue this strong tradition with even better events, partners, and speakers.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxKalamazoo, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxKalamazoo event, TEDTalk videos and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
